Luke Bryan returned as a judge for his fourth season of American Idol on Sunday (February 14th), where he was happy to have things a little more back to normal despite the ongoing panemic. Last year, the season ended virtually, however this year, they were able to return to in-person auditions and as Luke tells us, it made a huge difference. “We’re back in front of the kids for live auditions, and being in the room with an extremely talented artist and singer is really, really powerful. You don’t want those moments virtually. I was so thankful that the show with a way to get us in front of the kids, and certainly, we followed all the COVID protocols, and the way we even did auditions, virtual auditions, made it easier for kids that may not have submitted their auditions. I feel like it helped us find new talent that we wouldn’t have found otherwise.”
American Idol airs on Sundays on ABC beginning at 8 p.m.
Luke is inching toward the top of the country charts with his latest single, “Down to One.”
