The latest Foo Fighters album, Medicine At Midnight, entered the Billboard 200 albums chart at Number Three this week. The band, who was able to hit the top spot on the magazine's Top Album Sales list, came in third behind The Weeknd's The Highlights, and this week's Number One album — Dangerous: The Double Album by Morgan Wallen.
So far, Medicine At Midnight has topped the charts on the Australian, Belgian, Dutch, German, Irish, New Zealand, Scottish, Swiss, and UK album charts.
Medicine At Midnight marks Foo Fighters' 10th album since 1995's self-titled set. The band began as a solo project for Dave Grohl, who wrote and played everything on the first album himself. He told us a while back how the end of Nirvana finally pushed him to go it alone: “I always have played guitar and have always written music on my own and would just make demo tapes and record in my basement studio for fun, and was horribly embarrassed with my voice and never really confident with my playing. After Nirvana was finished I thought, y'know, I'm too young to become a studio session drummer, I might as well go try my hand at actually singing and playing guitar. And it worked out.”
