Cardi B was interviewed by Mariah Carey for Interview Magazine. During the chat, which Cardi said had her “freaking out,” the ladies discussed their childhoods. Carey asked Cardi if she felt beautiful growing up, Cardi said peple used to make fun of her “crunchy” dyed hair and added, “I was also really skinny when I was younger, and in the Bronx, it’s about being thick and having an a–, so young boys would be like, ‘Look at your flat a–. You ain’t got no t–ties.' She said that she would feel so ugly and underdeveloped.
She continued, “I feel so vindicated. Even when I was 18 and became a dancer, I had enough money to afford to buy boobs, so every insecurity that I felt about my breasts was gone.”
CARDI TALKS NEW MUSIC
Cardi also discussed her new album, saying, “I feel like I’m missing some songs. Everybody’s rushing me to put it out, but I don’t know if it’s the right time.” When Carey said that “Be Careful” is one of her favorite songs, she said, “I do have a song like ‘Be Careful,’ but I think it’s more personal. People were saying, ‘You need to be softer. You need to talk more about yourself.’ And I was telling them that it’s really hard for me to do love records and express myself like that because I never do that. I don’t talk about love and s–t.”
She also revealed that she reads the comments on the social media posts, saying, “Not like before. Two years ago, Mariah, let me tell you, every single time somebody said some crazy s–t, I would flame their a– right back. I’m more calm now.”
