Mickey Guyton has done an Amazon Original cover of Beyonce‘s “If I Were A Boy,” which is available now to stream and purchase only on Amazon Music. The Amazon Original is part of Amazon Music’s new slate of content to honor Black History Month.
Mickey said, “It was important for me to record ‘If I Were A Boy’ because I have been fighting in country music for so long to just be accepted for who I am. This song represents the release and the birth of something new. Really this song means so much more to me, and has a completely different meaning, than when I first heard it.”
For the Amazon Original artwork, Mickey collaborated with Interdisciplinary Artist Jamilla Okubo to create an original piece of cover art inspired by the song, featuring her silhouette surrounded by pastel colors to “embrace femininity and the power that women have.”
Amazon Music HD customers using an Echo Studio can listen to Mickey’s Amazon Original song in immersive 3D Audio.
