Miranda Lambert has reunited with Elle King for their brand new collaboration, “Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home), which was released on Friday (Feb. 26th). The song was co-written by Elle and was recorded in Nashville and New York pre-pandemic.
Miranda tells us this collaboration has been in the works for a whole. “Elle and I were on tour together for Roadside Bars and Pink Guitars and she and I became really good friends, and she sent me this awesome song in 2019 and asked me if I would sing on it, and I heard it and of course loved it — such an anthem — and then 2020 happened, so we’re finally getting this song out and we got to shoot a really fun video at the American Legion in Nashville and we got to have really big hair, so we had a blast.”
This is the second time Miranda and Elle have recorded together. Their first was “Fooled Around and Fell in Love,” which also featured Maren Morris, Ashley McBryde, Tenille Townes and Caylee Hammack and went on to win the 2020 ACM Award for Music Event of The Year.
In January, Miranda and Elle met up in Nashville to film an 80s-inspired wedding video starring Elle as the bride and Miranda as her Maid of Honor complete with a cameo from Elle’s real-life fiance as the groom.
