Carrie Underwood follows the success of her recent Christmas album, My Gift, with an album of gospel hymns, titled My Savior, which is available everywhere today (Friday, March 26th). The 13-song collection includes guest appearances by CeCe Winans and Bear Rinehart of the rock band NEEDTOBREATHE.
Carrie tells us it only made sense to record My Savior on the heels of My Gift: ["As we were kind of in the middle of it, you know talking about the followup, to me it was like we might as well just go ahead and do it. Like we don't know when the world is gonna back to 'normal' so to me just staying in this space and getting to just be inspired and sing songs like this throughout last year and this year. It was such a blessing to me so I definitely hope that when people listen to it they feel that."] SOUNDCUE (:30 OC: . . . they feel that.)
My Savior will be available on vinyl on April 30th.
Carrie will perform a free live virtual concert of the songs on My Savior from the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on Easter Sunday (April 4th) on her Facebook page at 11 a.m. CT. Donations from the show will benefit Save the Children.
Carrie will perform on NBC's Today show this morning during both the 8 and 10 a.m. hours.
