Dan + Shay's latest single, “Glad You Exist,” is meaningful to them on a few different levels. It's definitely a message to their fans, but as Shay Mooney explains, it's also an important idea for himself and Dan Smyers to keep in mind during this particular time in the world. “When we finally got to record it, it was during quarantine. And I feel like the entire timing of how the song came together was not only good for our fans, the message was good for our fans, but also for us. You know, it’s important to remember that we need to tell people that we love that we love them, and we’re glad that they’re around. I think being away from your family and not getting to see the ones that you loved, was…we were reminded of that even more, so this song has taken on a new meaning and we’re just very proud of it.”
“Glad You Exist” follows up the duo's chart-topping hit “I Should Probably Go To Bed.”
Dan + Shay recently took home their third Grammy win. The duo might also claim their third ACM Duo of the Year Award on Sunday, April 18th when the ACM Awards airs live from Nashville on CBS.
