It's official! Rapper Jeezy and The Real co-host Jeannie Mai have tied the knot! According to Vogue, the two were married on March 27th in an intimate ceremony at their home in Atlanta. The two wanted to get married in the South of France or Lake Cuomo but they had to change their plans due to COVID-19.
Jeannie said, “We were really looking forward to having all of our friends and family there to celebrate. But we had to change all of our wedding plans due to COVID. After Jeezy’s mother unexpectedly passed, we quickly learned that life is too short. And at the end of the day, Jeezy and I really just wanted to become husband and wife. So we decided to turn our original wedding into a mini-mony, where we exchanged our vows in front of our immediate family and a few close friends.”
The also took the proper precautions to make sure their guests were COVID-19 safe. For everyone that attended, they were required to have negative COVID-19 test results in the days leading up to the wedding and the day of the ceremony. Jeannie explained, “Once everyone was tested and confirmed negative, our guests were shuttled to the surprise location—our home.”
Tyrese performed his classic song “Sweet Lady” at the reception during the couple's first dance.
Later on in the night, the guests were gifted custom monogrammed Cozy Earth pajamas and slippers to continue the party in PJs. Jeannie said, “Jeezy and I changed into our own special matching Versace silk pajamas. And then we danced the night away to our favorite hits, feeling cozier than ever.”
The two announced their engagement in April 2020.
