Earlier this month, Maren Morris turned to Instagram to post about the pressure new moms feel to “snap back” after having a baby, and she completely rejects it, saying she is proud of her body. Maren expanded on this in the press room after Sunday (April 18th) night's ACM Awards, telling reporters that new moms need to appreciate their bodies for how powerful they are. “I'm really proud of where my body is right now even if it is several pounds heavier. It's like I did something that half the population can't do, so I think that's pretty rad. Yeah, that's kind of how I came to that epiphany myself and I was like, 'I'm gonna share this.' I'm really proud of where I am in my journey and I'm not like a stick but I love the fact that I've got curves now and it proves that I did something really amazing and wonderful with my life.”
Maren took home two trophies at the ACM Awards — Female Artist and Song of the Year for “The Bones.”
She joins her husband, Ryan Hurd, on his latest single, “Chasing After You.” They premiered the song during the ACM Awards.
