Chris Lane has released the second of two new songs in the past week. The new tune, called “Summer Job Money,” follows “Fill Them Boots,” his new single which was recently released to Country radio.
Chris said, “I’ve always loved nostalgic Country songs that take you back to a certain time and place. When I first heard ‘Summer Job Money,’ it immediately gave me that same kind of feeling. I worked a landscaping job up until the very moment I signed my record deal, so I related to the song and knew I wanted to record it. I’m pumped to share it, and hope y’all have a blast singing it when we get out there to play it live!”
Chris tells us that “Summer Job Money” is very reminiscent of something one of his favorite entertainers would sing. “I had been telling my team, 'Try to fine me . . . ' — I was also trying to write this kind of song — 'try to find me a nostalgic, throwback, summertime kind of song,' cause I'm such a huge Kenny Chesney fan, and he is the king of that kind of song and I really loved it. It's just what I wanted.”
The song's official music video premiered on CMT over the weekend, as well as on ViacomCBS' Times Square Billboard on Saturday (May 1st).
