Morgan Wallen popped up at Kid Rock's Big Ass Honky Tonk — yes, that's what it's called — in downtown Nashville on Wednesday (May 19th) night. He got on stage and performed two songs, according to The Tennessean — “Whiskey Glasses” and “Wasted On You.” This was Morgan's first public appearance since uttering a racial slur back in February. Kid Rock was also in the house, taking the stage to perform “Picture.”
Fans began posting videos on social media immediately.
Daniel Kensy was in attendance at the venue at the time. He told The Tennessean, “Everyone was just floored. Morgan really wanted to be playing his music for the people. Definitely could sense it … the overall feeling was tremendous.”
Morgan is up for six awards at Sunday's (May 23rd) Billboard Music Awards but show producers, Dick Clark Productions, banned him from participating in or attending the show.
