Lady Gaga opened up about the rape that lead her to have a “total psychotic break” in the latest episode of The Me You Can’t See.
In the tearful new interview on the Apple TV+ docuseries, Gaga said, “I was 19 years old, and I was working in the business, and a producer said to me, ‘Take your clothes off. And I said no. And I left, and they told me they were going to burn all of my music. And they didn’t stop. They didn’t top asking me, and I just froze and I – I don’t even remember.”
The singer said that all of the painful memories were triggered during a hospital visit with a psychiatrist. She said she felt physically sick for weeks after, and finally realized it was the same pain she felt when her attacker dropped her off pregnant on a corner.
She added, “For a couple years, I was not the same girl. The way that I feel when I feel pain now was how I felt after I was raped. I’ve had so many MRI’s and scans where they don’t find nothing. But your body remembers.”
The star refused to name her attacker because she doesn’t “ever want to face that person again.”
