The official start of summer happens this weekend with Memorial Day when people celebrate the three-day holiday with barbecues, swimming and other outdoor activities. Brantley Gilbert wants people to enjoy the holiday, but he tells us he hopes they also take time to truly appreciate the meaning of Memorial Day. “You know, on Memorial Day I feel like everybody goes to a place, or should, I hope they do, go to a place where it’s like man I have these guys and girls to thank for my freedom and the things that I was able to do today because of my freedom. It’s because they paid the ultimate price. I feel like any time we get an opportunity, even not on Memorial Day, but especially on Memorial Day, just a chance to get silent for a minute and say thank you with your eyes closed.”
Brantley is set to deliver the opening performance of the Fox & Friends Summer Concert Series with “Hard Days” today (Friday, May 28th) closing out the 8 a.m. ET hour.
Brantley has been hard at work in the studio, teasing fans with behind-the-scenes photos and videos on social media, readying BG Nation for new music later this summer.
