The Offspring have parted ways with longtime drummer Pete Parada over his inability to receive the Covid-19 vaccine. Parada posted the news on social media on Monday (August 2nd) writing in part, “Given my personal medical history and the side-effect profile of these jabs, my doctor has advised me not to get a shot at this time . . . Since I am unable to comply with what is increasingly becoming an industry mandate — it has recently been decided that I am unsafe to be around, in the studio, and on tour . . .”
The Offspring are scheduled to resume touring on Sunday (Aug. 8th) in Los Angeles with dates booked through the end of the year in support of their latest album, Let the Bad Times Roll.
Parada says that in the meantime, he is “in the midst of launching a project” and plans on releasing music with his daughter.
