Chris Young, Chris Janson, Vince Gill, Terri Clark, Bill Anderson, Jeannie Seely, Connie Smith, and The Gatlin Brothers are the first artists announced to perform at the Grand Ole Opry's upcoming celebration of its 5,000th Saturday night broadcast taking place on October 30th. The ticketed show will be available to stream live on Circle, including its Circle All Access Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube channels.
Yesterday (Tuesday, August 17th), Opry members Marty Stuart and Carly Pearce appeared at a press conference at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville to officially kick off the countdown to 5,000 and share their perspectives on the significance of the milestone.
Carly recalls how the Opry became such an important figure in her life. “My grandparents loved the Opry and I think that's where I got my first taste of understanding what this place meant to Country music and it was a way of life in our home as well and just something that I always knew I would find my way somehow to the circle. I didn't know if I'd ever get to sing there but I was gonna see it and when I got to see it I was like, 'Oh, I have to sing here,' just because to me it was a family that I so desperately wanted to be a part of.”
And a part of the family she is! Carly was inducted into the Opry on August 3rd.
