Three months after his wife Kristen field for divorce, Lindsey Buckingham says the couple are in the process of reconciling: “I think a lot of relationships were somewhat tested by the lockdown. Over the last year Kristen felt she needed some time to herself, and I have been completely supportive of that. Before this all went down, I was not aware that many people file for divorce and then choose not to follow through. Kristen and I agree that is the best course to follow, focusing instead on working on our relationship.”
- Buckingham, who's currently on tour and releases his latest self-titled album tomorrow, (September 17th), added: “I think you've got to concentrate on the things that bring you together and that define you as a single entity and try to let go of some of the other things. We came out the other end with some stuff to sort out.” (People)
Rock n' Roll pioneer Dion DiMucci has tapped some of music's greatest talents for his new album Stomping Ground, set for release on November 5th. Pete Townshend supplied the liner notes for the set, which includes contributions from such legends as Bruce Springsteen & Patti Scialfa, Eric Clapton, Peter Frampton, Mark Knopfler, Bon Scaggs, Billy F Gibbons, Rickie Lee Jones, Sonny Landreth, Joe Bonamassa, G.E. Smith, Keb' Mo', and many others.
- Townshend wrote in the album's notes: “Dion, like a circling star that never fades, generates the energy and fire we need to pull ourselves up and start again. Dion is a star who knows well how to start again, how to keep shining. He looks at his watch every few years. Damn! Let’s make a record. Take care. John Mellencamp will appear as a guest programmer on Turner Classic Movies later this month. The Rock and Roll Hal of Famer will curate two special nights of films; selecting Tortilla Flat, Cool Hand Luke, and The Misfits to air on September 17th. Alice Cooper has joined forces with Rock & Brews restaurants to launch the “Poison Burger.” The burger is available across the country at Rock & Brews restaurants (excluding airports, arenas, and casinos). Cooper stated in the press release, “I DARE you to finish a Poison Burger. It's a great cheeseburger, and it's MY hot sauce on it and I could barely get through half of it before reaching for the antidote. Unlike my guillotine, the Poison Burger doesn't pose any mortal danger, but it is NOT for the faint of heart. If this cheeseburger were around Salem in the 1600's, they would have burned the chefs as witches!” (Best Classic Bands)
Set for release on Record Store Day (November 26th) is Hall & Oates‘ Fall In Philadelphia: The Definitive Demos 1968-71. The set, which is making its vinyl debut, collects the duo's pre-fame sessions recorded prior to signing with Atlantic Records. The 20-track release is “pressed on heavyweight transparent orange vinyl with individual hand-numbering.” (Press release)
