Britney Spears’ camp is responding to the new documentaries that came out about the embattled pop star’s conservatorship this weekend.
On Monday, (Sept. 27th), the singer’s attorney Matthew Rosengart filed a 21-page document with the court, petitioning to remove Jamie Spears from his co-conservatorship role. The latest filing refers to the Hulu and New York Times documentary, Controlling Britney Spears’ claims that Jamie was monitoring his daughter’s movement and conversations for years.
Rosengart accused the elder Spears of “horrifying and unconscionable invasions of his adult daughter’s privacy” and wrote that the “deeply disturbing allegations” made in the film “warrant serious investigation.”
An attorney for Kevin Federline also chimed in Monday, saying that if Britney and her two minor sons were recorded, it would be “completely inappropriate.”
Mark Vincent Kaplan told Page Six that he and Federline, who shares sons Sean Preston and Jayden James with “Toxic” singer, have no way of knowing if the allegations are true, but points out that the boys are too young to give their permission to be recorded.
He added, “They certainly couldn’t give their consent and certainly Kevin would never agree to such a thing.”
Britney, herself, took the time to respond to the other film about her. Sources tell TMZ that she was referring to CNN’s Special Report when she wrote on Instagram Monday, “It's really crazy guys … I watched a little bit of the last documentary and I must say I scratched my head a couple of times !!! I really try to disassociate myself from the drama !!! Number one … that's the past !!! Number two … can the dialogue get any classier ??? Number three … wow they used the most beautiful footage of me in the world !!! What can I say .. the EFFORT on their part”
A hearing on Britney’s request to remove her father is scheduled to take place Thursday, September 29th, at 1:30 P.T.
