Machine Gun Kelly says his next album will be “more grown-up” than his current one, Tickets to My Downfall.
He compared the two lyrically and said that his first one was metaphorically like high school and the next one will be more like college.
He told Variety, “In high school, you don't really have a sense of responsibility, you have a fear of that responsibility, and so you want to explode and use all that energy for f**king off.”
Musically, he said that Born With Horns is more “guitar heavy” than he’s ever recorded.
He hopes that what he’s doing will inspire other musicians and said, “There's someone right now who has the potential to be the greatest ever, who is being told it's the dumbest idea to pursue a dream because the person looking at them was too scared to pursue theirs.”
The new album will be released sometime next year.
