On Monday (December 27), Juice WRLD’s mother, Carmella Wallace spoke out and said that it’s disrespectful to leak Juice’s songs to the public. She said, “I understand they loved him. They loved his music, but there’s a proper way to do it. Leaked music is not necessarily cleaned up music, it’s just leaked, it’s not finished.” Juice died in 2019 and left behind an extensive unreleased catalog, that has little by little, made its way into the public.
Rolling Stone published a feature this week detailing DMX’s path of destruction surrounding his lost 2008 double-album. The recording is now in the process of being shopped to labels. One side of the project is rap and the other is pure gospel songs. He told his producer at the time, “No songs about bitches, no songs about robbing, just straight ‘Give God the glory'” songs. Most of the gospel side of the album was recorded in one night in 2008 where X would take breaks to smoke crack and come back to craft tracks with warp speed. Walk With Me Now and You’ll Fly With Me Later was never officially released, but can be found online. DMX’s career halted as he was arrested on charges such as probation violations, animal cruelty, drug possession and traffic violations.
