21 Savage's immigration status hasn't made any progress because of 2019 criminal charges he has that are unresolved.
According to TMZ, 21's lawyer, Charles Kuck, said that the rapper's pending criminal charges for possession of a controlled substance and possession of a firearm are holding up his immigration case.
No progress can be made for 21 until his criminal charges, which stem from a traffic stop in Atlanta three years ago and led to his detainment by ICE, have been sorted out.
As previously reported, when 21 was stopped by authorities, it was discovered that he is a U.K. citizen and that his visa to live in the U.S. had expired.
He was also accused of tossing a bottle that tested positive for codeine at the time while a gun was also found in the car that he was in.
TMZ also reports that the DeKalb District Attorney's Office didn't charge 21 until January of this year and due to the coronavirus delaying court cases, there is no pending court date for 21 Savage's criminal case.
