CHAKA KHAN IS STILL UPSET WITH KANYE WEST'S 'THROUGH THE WIRE' SAMPLE: During an interview with Good Day DC, Chaka Khan said that she is still upset about Kanye West sampling her hit “Through The Fire,” for his hit “Through The Wire.” She said, “I'm not looking to hear from Kanye, either. No, I've not heard from him and I'm not looking to hear from him. That's what he did. That's what he did with his music. I was upset about sounding like a chipmunk, 'cause he didn't put that when he asked if he could use my, sample my song. He didn't mention that he was gonna speed it up three times its normal speed.”
MASE ADDRESSES FIVIO FOREIGN'S CLAIMS THAT HE PAID HIM $5K FOR A RECORD DEAL: Mase has opened up about Fivio Foreign's recent claims that he signed him to a production deal that included a measly $5,000 advance. During an interview with the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast, Mase said that Fivio is reckless and claimed that he actually received an advance of $750,000 and not $5,000. He said, “At one time, I gave him $5,000, but I gave him $750,000. Because I set him up to do a deal to where I can control the deal, make the deal what it should be because I knew if he had the leverage, he would go in there and sell both of us out. So he wasn’t able to do that because of the way I structured the deal.” He continued, “Then, when we went in the building, I took $800,000 and he took $700,000. The reason why it went down to $700,000 is because when I gave him $750,000 and I took $750,000, he owed me $50,000.” Mase also claims that he put $50,000 towards Fivio’s career before he signed his record deal, presumably with Columbia Records.
