CARDI B AND MEGAN THEE STALLION HAVE EXPRESSED INTEREST IN STARRING IN 'B.A.P.S.' REMAKE: During an interview with Slash Film, Robert Townsend revealed that Megan Thee Stallion and Cardi B are interested in starring in a reboot of B.A.P.S. He said, “There’s people that love, love, love the film and some people that didn’t get it. And those that love it—like you love it and you get it—I’ve had people go, ‘Hey, we want to do a remake. ‘Everybody from Megan Thee Stallion to Cardi B is like, ‘Could we do…’ I mean, it’s like, I don’t know.”
NICKI MINAJ ANNOUNCES NEW RECORD LABEL: During the latest episode of Queen Radio, Nicki Minaj announced that she has launched a record label, which will be under Republic Records. She said, “I’m not gonna announce the name, but I have a record label now. And because I believe so strongly in loyalty and because I spent my whole life giving to others that turned around and s**t on me, Paddy Dukes is the first A&R on my label.” Artists on her roster include Ghanaian singer-songwriter, Nana Fofie, Baltimore rapper Tate Kobang, Queens, N.Y. rhymer Rico Danna, and Bronx, N.Y. rapper London Hill.
PLAYBOI CARTI'S PERFORMANCE CUT SHORT AT ROLLING LOUD: On Friday (March 3rd) Playboi Carti's Rolling Loud set was cut short due to what he called an “emergency” in the audience. According to The Daily Breeze, his performance was cut short after three songs as fans began jumping the barricades. In a clip from Rolling Loud livestream, Carti can be heard sounding slightly annoyed as he tells the crowd that festival organizers have stopped the music. He then offers an explanation as to why his set has been interrupted. He told the crowd, “It’s an emergency right now, someone’s hurt in the f*cking crowd. Let’s take a break for a second. Everybody needs to back up.” After about 30 minutes, Playboi Carti returned to the stage to finish performing a new set.
GLORILLA FIRES BODYGUARD FOR REFUSING TO ATTACK PERSON WHO THREW WATER BOTTLE AT HER: GloRilla has reportedly fired the bodyguard who refused to handle audience member who threw water bottle at her during a performance in Oakland, California. Last week, the rapper's former bodyguard spoke on the situation on social media, saying that he did his job as he protected the rapper and got her out of the venue safely. He added, “I did my job, it’s complete.” The former bodyguard added that he did not want to lose his license or catch an assault charge for retaliating against the water thrower.
50 CENT RESPONDS TO MELLE MEL SAYING THAT EMINEM IS SUCCESSFUL BECAUSE HE IS WHITE: 50 Cent has responded to Melle Mel saying that Eminem is only considered a top five rapper because he is white. 50 wrote via Instagram, “There was more money selling dope than being in Hip Hop when Melly Mel was popping, the culture has grown so much. I am not sure if it would be what it is today with out artist like Eminem. Sh*t I am not sure I would be who I am with out him but you know it is competitive so n****s gonna hate.
