DRAKE REVISITS KANYE WEST AND KIM KARDASHIAN DIVORCE IN NEW MUSIC SNIPPET: Drake has sampled Kim Kardashian discussing her divorce from Kanye West on the 2021 season finale of The Kardashians. Drake previewed the track, which is called “Rescue Me” during a radio show last week. On the song, Kim is heard telling her mom Kris Jenner, “I didn’t come this far, just to come this far and not be happy, remember that.” On the song, Drizzy raps about what he is looking for in an ideal partner, including patience, trust, honesty and ambition.
KANYE WEST SUED BY FORMER YEEZY STAFFER OVER $275K BREACH OF CONTRACT: According to TMZ, Kanye West and his Yeezy brand are being sued for a former employee, who has claimed that the rapper owes hi $275,000. According to court docs, Dora Szilagyi was hired to be Yeezy's “Director of Product Innovation” in June 2021, but only after Kanye convinced her to quit her role at Adidas and work for him full-time. Dora has claimed that she was promised a $275,000 severance payment if she was fired without cause after September 1, 2021 — but she claims it was never paid to her when she was let go in mid-December 2021.
OFFSET CLAIMS HE'S BEING BLOCKED FROM RELEASING MUSIC: This past weekend, Offset took to Twitter and wrote, “Never thought life be this f##### up. LLTake rocket emoji. I can’t drop music also.” He added, “Black ppl holding black ppl back.” Fans have assumed that Offset is talking about is record label Quality Control. Back in August 2022, Offset sued QC for allegedly claiming ownership of his recent solo releases despite Offset buying back the rights in a 2021 deal, for which he “paid handsomely.” According to Variety, based on a settlement agreement from January 2021, “Offset and Quality Control terminated the Production Agreement with respect to Offset’s solo recording services, and Offset became the sole owner of all rights, title and interest in and to his services as a solo recording artist, entertainer and songwriter.”
