Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas' two daughters are currently with their mother in New York, but the Game Of Thrones actress filed a court petition on Thursday to force Jonas to return the girls' passports so Turner can return with them to the U.K. The petition cites the “wrongful retention” of their children “in New York City from their habitual residence of England,” which they decided to make their “permanent” home in April of this year. Attorneys for Jonas soon responded, asking Turner to “reconsider her harsh legal position” and “work together towards an amicable co-parenting setup.”
Turner is apparently trying to get around a Florida law that does not “permit the removal of any minor children of the parties from their current county of residence” after divorce papers have been filed. (Jonas filed in Florida). He also denied Turner's claim that she only learned of Joe’s divorce filing “through the media” on September 5. He believed that she was “aware” because they’d had “multiple conversations” about it.
