Challengers debuted in the top spot at the box office this weekend, earning $15 million from over 3,400 locations. The R-rated drama set in the tennis world, and starring Zendaya, has been getting good word-of-mouth, but has a long way to go before making back its $55 million budget. In second place with $7.7 million was Unsung Heroes, a faith-based drama about the popular Christian rock duo For King & Country. But that’s already big success, against a $6 million budget. Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire earned $7.2 million to nab third place, Civil War took fourth place with $7 million, and the vampire ballerina film Abigail rounded out the top five with $5.2 million.
