BNPL services are used more often to buy clothing, home goods, and groceries. 19% of Gen Zers use buy now, pay later for rideshares, compared to 7% of the general population. To help offset costs, 50% of consumers look for coupons, and 15% resell popular items that they own. 20% of millennials open multiple online accounts to receive additional promotions. “Brands need to strike a balance between driving business with a great customer experience and limiting the damage caused by consumer workarounds, such as abusing promotions,” Doriel Abrahams of Forter said.
