Instacart has released its Flavors of the Fourth report, which shows which foods are in high demand before the Fourth of July. Demand for corn is up 380% and charcoal is up 222%. Demand for potato salad has increased 177%. Other in-demand items include baby back ribs, hot dog buns, canned baked beans, and bratwurst. Does this mean Americans are going to chow down more hot dogs than burgers this year, or have people just not purchased their beef patties just yet? “When hosting backyard parties, people often prioritize quick preparation, easy serving, and broad appeal,” Laurentia Romaniuk of Instacart said. “Hot dogs, in particular, are favored across more states because they’re convenient and don’t even require a plate!” (Food And Wine)
