Millionaire Reportedly Sets Fire To His Own House In Bitter Divorce (07/01)

A British millionaire and golfer Francis McGuirk allegedly set his own home on fire so his wife couldn’t claim it in the divorce. The 50-year-old reportedly locked himself inside and texted his soon-to-be ex-wife that he was about to set the house on fire. He allegedly assured her that he would throw the family dog out the window. However, the neighbors called emergency services, and the $1.4 million-dollar home sustained minor damage. One of the first responders said he heard McGuirk say he set the house on fire because he “didn’t want the [expletive] to have everything.” The judge did not sentence McGuirk to any prison time.
