Children learn the skill of self-regulation early in life. However, researchers from Eötvös Loránd University found that smart phone use could leave children unable to manage their own anger and frustration down the line. 265 parents were asked to fill out questionnaires on their child’s behavior once at around three years of age and another a year later. Parents who used screens to pacify their kids reported that their children were not as capable of managing their negative feelings a year later. “Tantrums cannot be cured by digital devices. Children have to learn how to manage their negative emotions for themselves,” Dr. Veronika Konok said. “They need the help of their parents during this learning process.” (dailymail.co.uk)
