Students can be considered “too short to study” at The School of Management and Business at the Vietnam National University in Hanoi. Female students must be at least 1.58 meters tall, and male students must be 1.65 meters tall. This equates to about 5’2” for women, and 5’5” for men. After an initial outcry, the Ministry of Education asked the school to review the requirement. Now, the height requirement only applies to the Management and Security undergraduate program. HSB justified the decision by saying training future leaders is not just about technical suitability, but physical suitability as well. (DW)
