Doctors may soon be able to diagnose chronic illnesses like diabetes based on the temperature of your face. A study published in journal Cell Metabolism reports that different parts of the face and their temperatures are associated with various ailments. This means an AI-driven thermal camera could one day help doctors zero in on a diagnosis. “Our tool has the potential to promote healthy aging and help people live disease-free,” Jing-Dong Jackie Han of Peking University said. The research team analyzed facial temperatures of 2,800 Chinese people and found that those with diabetes and fatty liver disease tended to have warmer eye areas. High blood pressure was linked to elevated cheek temperatures. (UPI)
