Retailers like McDonald’s and Walmart are helping their employees receive college credit for working. The idea is that retail workers can earn credits in hospitality, culinary arts, and more based on their experience. “For adults who feel like they weren’t college material, what we are able to do is say, ‘You are. And you’re doing college-level work already,” Amber Garrison Duncan of the Competency-Based Network said. Employee Bonnie Boop was able to complete her degree faster with credits from Walmart Academy. She now manages over 200 employees. (newser)
