A Nathan’s Hot Dog Contest Contestant has been accused of cheating after the July 4th chow down. Fourth-place winner Nick Wehry has been accused of moving empty plates around to make it look like he ate more dogs. While he would have scored fourth place either way, the extra plate of dogs would have put him at 51.75 hot dogs instead of 46.75. The over-50 hot dogs in 10 minutes crew is a coveted title. To avoid further scandal, Wehry insists he did not cheat, but will accept the score of 56.75 dogs. “Because I did touch another eater’s plates and because this gives the appearance or possibility of impropriety I have asked Major League Eating to adjust my score down,” he said.
