Could a creativity pill be in the works? Researchers from the University of Utah found that there’s no one part of the brain responsible for creativity. Instead, a network called the Default Mode Network is responsible. The DMN is active when we are not focused on a specific task. By scanning participants’ brains, researchers were able to see a link between DMN activity and creativity. “Eventually, the goal would be to understand what happens to the network in such a way that we can potentially drive it toward being more creative,” Dr. Ben Shofty said.
