A survey by Bankrate found that about one-third of Americans are taking on “side hustles” to pay the bills. Of those, 36% use side hustle income for necessities like rent and groceries. “Even as inflation cools, the high percentage of people with a side hustle shows many Americans don’t feel they can sustain their lifestyles on one income alone,” the Bankrite site noted. Nearly half of Gen Zers have a side hustle, and the percentage decreases among older generations. 44% of millennials have a side hustle, and only 23% of Boomers have one. (QZ)
