A new study has found that biking to work could lower your risk of death! Research published in BMJ Public Health showed those who bike commuted had a 47% lower risk of an early death, and also were less likely to develop heart disease, cancer, and mental health problems. Walking to work was also linked to health benefits. Walking was linked to a 10% lower risk of hospitalization for heart disease and a 10% lower risk of needing medication for heart disease. “This study provides timely evidence of the health benefits of active commuting,” Catherine Friel of the University of Glasgow said.
