Only 55% of Americans can afford prescription medications and quality healthcare, according to the West Health-Gallup Healthcare Affordability Index. Americans over 50 have been particularly impacted. The index places Americans in one of three categories: Cost Secure; Cost Insecure; and Cost Desperate. “Healthcare affordability in America is headed in the wrong direction,” West Health President Timothy Lash said. “High prices are one of the biggest impediments to a healthy aging population and a prosperous economy.” (Study Finds)
