The last hand of cards has been dealt at The Mirage in Las Vegas, which opened in 1989. Hundreds of onlookers attended the casino’s closing ceremony on Wednesday and watched its iconic volcano erupt for the final time. 137 Mirage employees have been with the 3,044-room hotel from the very beginning. Jim Allen, the new property owner, plans to turn the location into the Hard Rock Las Vegas. The new structure will be in the shape of a guitar and is scheduled to open in 2027. (newser)
