48% of Americans believe AI has made them less capable of detecting scams. A survey of 2,000 Americans found that 34% have been a victim of a scam already. 8% of those who have been a scam victim were hoodwinked in the past month. The most common types of scams people fell for include fake sales, financial operations, and email phishing. “We advise users to verify the identity of all parties involved in transactions, refrain from rushing transactions under pressure and consistently verify the contact information provided by the requester,” Jessica Poverene of BOSS Revolution said.
