In a recent UK study, psychologists used popular Game of Thrones characters to research face blindness. Researchers scanned the brains of 70 participants as they watched the show. Half of the participants were already fans, and the other half had never seen the show before. Results suggest that human beings connect a face with knowledge about a person. In short, we do not learn faces from visual information alone. “We were really excited to see the results of our study as they suggest that our ability to recognize faces relies on what we know about people, not just what they look like,” Professor Tim Andrews said. This could mean face blindness is linked to issues with neural connections. (Study Finds)
