Travel site Upgrade Points asked American travelers which airplane seats were the most coveted. 3,142 travelers were tasked with choosing a seat from a Boeing 737 seat map, and found seat 1A was the most popular. This seat is a first-class window seat with legroom and easy restroom access. There’s also the perk of being the first person off the plane. Seats 7A and 7F in coach were also popular. 41% of travelers were willing to accept extra responsibility if it meant sitting in the emergency exit row, due to the extra legroom. 66.6% of respondents preferred a window seat.
