A New Zealand woman walking her dog at Tupuae Beach feared the worst when she saw what appeared to be a headless woman in the sand. “I could see it was definitely the shape of a torso, face down, and I could tell it was a woman’s figure,” Alice Cowdrey said. She contacted police, who discovered that the object was actually a realistic doll, likely worth thousands of dollars. While it’s unclear how the doll came to appear on the beach, local police say they are now focusing on more “urgent incidents.” (RNZ.co.nz)
