Joshua Daryl McGregor pleaded guilty to lighting a McDonald’s dumpster on fire to get customers out of the restaurant. In April 2023, the former employee of the chain apparently became frustrated, lit a piece of cardboard on fire, and threw it into a dumpster filled with flammable materials. He also filmed the event on his cell phone. The fire caused the restaurant to briefly close. “Arson is an extremely violent crime that not only destroys property but also places firefighters, first responders and the general public at great risk,” Assistant Special Agent Beau Kolodka said. McGregor was sentenced to five years in prison. (Fox Business)
