An American Kennel Club survey of 5,000 dog owners found that the best-behaved breed is the Labrador retriever, and the worst-behaved is the Siberian husky. The poll ranked a dog’s ability to follow commands and temperament. Shih tzus ranked best in terms of temperament, meaning they’re least likely to whine, destroy things, or ingest foreign objects. Six breeds that commonly bark at others are small dogs, and include: Havenese; mini schnauzers; dachshunds; Pembroke Welsh corgis; Pomeranians; and Yorkshire terriers. Just 10% of all dog owners said their pets always or often follow commands when off-leash in public. (swnsdigital)
