The family of French explorer Paul-Henri Nargeolet has filed a lawsuit against OceanGate for $50 million. The lawsuit claims the passengers of the ill-fated Titan knew it was about to implode, and suffered “terror and mental anguish” as a result. “By experts’ reckoning, they would have continued to descend, in full knowledge of the vessel’s irreversible failures,” the lawsuit reads. The family also claims Nargeolet, who had visited the wreckage of the Titanic 37 times, was misled about the OceanGate trip. The first trial date is set for August 2025. (Business Insider)
