Game Helps Prevent Phone Use While Driving

Texting while driving is responsible for hundreds of deaths annually, but a game might actually help drivers stop the deadly habit. A Progressive insurance company experiment found that, while educational materials didn’t deter texting while driving, a game did help. Participants who played a game that gave points for meeting certain goals saw a 20.5% reduction in handheld phone use while driving. The best part? When the study was over, participants who played the game continued to use their phones less when they were behind the wheel. (newser)
