Chess Player Accused Of Poisoning Opponent Loved True Crime

A Russian chess player who confessed to attempting to poison a rival apparently has an obsession with serial killers. Amina Abakarova was reportedly caught on camera smearing mercury on a chess board before an August 2nd match with Umayganat Osmanova. Osmanova fell ill after sitting at the table where the liquid was poured. Abakarova later confessed and allegedly told police that she wanted revenge on Osmanova for rumors she spread about her.
