Scrolling through videos might be causing more boredom. Based on seven experiments involving more than 1,200 Americans and Canadians, watching short snippets of videos or fast-forwarding through them makes people more bored. Although watching short videos on social media has become a common pastime, participants in the study predicted that they would be less bored by switching through videos instead of watching them in full, but people allowed to switch between seven videos within 10 minutes reported themselves to be more bored than if they watched a single 10-minute YouTube video all the way through.
