A new movement that has positive health benefits has entered the conversation and it’s called “sober curious.” A study published by the Journal of the American Medical Association in 2020 found that alcohol abstinence became increasingly common among Gen Z, with 28% of college students saying in 2018 that they don’t drink alcohol, compared to 20% of students in 2002. Alcohol-free alternatives have also become much more accessible in recent years as well, from nonalcoholic spiritless retail stores to high-quality alcohol-free beverages. They’re even offered at restaurants, on bar menus in hotels and resorts, and in airplanes and airline lounges. (ABC News)
