A Florida Minor League Baseball team is keeping its newest “bat dog” on the roster…even though she did her business on the field during her first game. Lucy May, a 10-month old Lab, was introduced by the Clearwater Threshers after her sister Layla retired from the gig. Unfortunately, she squatted near the pitcher’s mound during her debut. The crowd, seemingly unphased, cheered for the pup. The team insists that Lucy May just needs some more training. “Even though she doesn’t have it quite right, she is 1000% KEEPING her job!” the team’s X post reads. (UPI)
